1. What made you decide to become a Big Bear wedding photographer?
There are not many natural outdoor destinations in Southern California that provide that epic mountain backdrop look, but Big Bear is one of those majestic places. From couples who choose an Autumn wedding where gold and red leaves decorate the scenery or a winter wonderland wedding with snowcapped mountains, there is something so refreshing about couples who choose to say their wedding vows surrounded by nature. Personally, I also enjoy occasionally slipping on ice and almost breaking my camera gear while shooting in the winter conditions.
2. What is the best wedding venue in Big Bear?
Big Bear ceremony locations really depend on whether a couple is planning to elope in Big Bear or plan a more traditional wedding. Those chasing a Big Bear elopement, the best venue is anywhere outdoors, surrounded by nature, and with a view of the mountains or lake. And the location is whatever spot feels like “your” spot. For couples planning a larger more traditional ceremony, I have some more information on Big Bear wedding venues below so hold your horses.
3. Any tips about Big Bear wedding photography?
If you’re planning a wedding in Big Beat the best tip is to be mindful of the weather. That means leaving a little more time for guests to arrive, making arrangements ahead of time if a snowstorm comes through (if you’re planning a winter wedding), and working with a Big Bear wedding coordinator who has experience working in the unique location. Honestly, a good wedding planner familiar with the Big Bear landscape can be a huge asset.
4. How would you describe your approach to Big Bear wedding photography?
The best way to describe my style to Big Bear wedding photography would be that warm feeling you get when someone asks you, “Do you wanna go do karate in the garage?”. Step Brothers references aside, my approach is to capture candid, unposed moments. The real stuff. The good shit that will make you smile for years and years. I want my brides and grooms to laugh, cry, dance, and have one of the best days of their lives. And I want to capture that in a way that is authentic to each couple in a unique way.
5. I need an affordable Big Bear wedding photographer. Can you help with that?
I offer Big Bear elopement packages as well as affordable wedding packages for small weddings to meet the needs of anyone planning a wedding in Big Bear. Big Bear wedding packages start at $600 an hour with discounts for additional hours of coverage, but please know I can customize anything to your particular needs. For couples looking for something super basic and cost-effective because they are recycling white claw cans to pay rent, I also have a team of super talented associate shooters who are more affordable that do a great job!
