Wedding Photographer That Travels

Photographing Kick Ass Couples Across The Globe

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is whether or not I travel to document weddings outside of Palm Springs, California. The answer is simple: if you are a fun crew and plan on having an awesome wedding then I will gladly document you in all your wedding day glory whether that is in Southern California or halfway across the globe.  Although I try to avoid a lot of travel and focus on weddings in the Southern California region, I often photograph destination weddings in Northern California, Chicago, Las Vegas, Rhode Island, and all sorts of crazy f**king places where awesome people are getting married and having a good time. So if my art and approach to photography connected with you please do not hesitate to reach out regarding a destination wedding. Below are some of the different places I shot engagement sessions, elopements, or weddings, but I am always ready to add to the growing list if you are going to bring the good vibes.

As the father of a 3-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter (whom I love more than anything else in life), I only take on a very small amount of destination weddings so I can maximize my time with them.

How Much Do Photographers Charge For Destination Weddings?

Pricing for a destination wedding photographer can fluctuate depending on a number of different factors. If a photographer is somewhat close to the wedding venue (say they are located in San Diego and traveling to Los Angeles), then it is reasonable for the wedding photographers to charge the federal mileage rate to the bride and groom  (The year 2020 = 57.5 cents/mile of travel) along with a small charge for time and food ($50-$100). However, if you are planning a destination wedding that requires the photographer to purchase a flight, book a hotel, get to the location where the wedding is happening a day beforehand then expect to pay anywhere between $500-$1500 in additional travel expenses to cover those costs. The good news is it is often for more cost-effective hiring a destination wedding photographer and paying for travel costs than hiring some locally in the most popular locations for destination weddings such as the Milan, Chicago, London, Paris, New York, and Tuscany. Not to mention, you will be able to pick a wedding artist whose work and personality you sincerely connect with, and that is critical in acquiring the most unique and organic wedding photos.
