Palm Springs Destination Elopement
“Hey bud, Rachel and myself are two Aussies traveling to the States for an awesome wedding adventure. We’re on the hunt for a fun-loving, beer-swindling photographer to hang out with us for a few hours and capture (as well as be witness to) our vows in a desert near Palm Springs. We are in our early 30’s, own a bar and micro-brewery, and just want to have some fucking fun on our wedding day – just the 3 of us lol!! We’ll celebrate with friends and family when we return to Australia. Are you in?”
Typically, I do not take on any Palm Springs weddings or engagements in July/August because the weather is so hot it literally feels like the heat is raping your face. But when Dane wrote me the above email I felt like these Aussies were too f***ing cool and I had to, therefore, make an exception to my rule. Yes, the temperature during their Palm Springs elopement was a shade over 110 degrees, but the beers were cold and the good times were numerous. Not to mention, finishing up the day in the pool wasn’t a bad plan either. In fact, I would say jumping in the pool is a must thing to do if you’re planning on eloping in Palm Springs or anywhere it will be hot as fuck. Moral of the story: don’t be afraid to elope in Palm Springs in July because you can still have an amazing time! Below are some of the photographs of the awesome time we had during Dane & Rach’s elopement in Palm Springs, California. And let me give a quick shout out to myself for being the best official witness in the history of witnessing weddings. You rock Ryan!
From Australia To Palm Springs
When Dane reached out to me via email about his plans to elope in Palm Springs, drink some beers, roll out to Joshua Tree, then head up to Las Vegas before closing the west coast trip in Portland, Oregon, I instantly knew I wanted to play some small part in the festivities. Clearly, Dane and Rach are adventurous souls who know how to have an awesome time. No joke these two had the best energy and they were even kind enough to bring me one of their personal brews from Australia. That is some top-shelf kindness that truly warmed my heart. It also got me buzzed as well which was something I was thankful for because I am a recreational consumer of the booze.
Dane and Rach honestly you two were incredible. It was such an awesome experience getting to meet you both and photograph the start of your journey together as kick ass husband and wife. I truly hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
