Twin Palms Frank Sinatra Estate Wedding

Andrew & Grace’s Palm Springs Wedding

Palm Springs has long been known as the movie colony because of all the famous Hollywood actors and actresses who would leave Los Angeles for a little rest, relaxation and maybe a little gay sex because let’s just be honest things were a little different at that time. Although there are many stories of famous people getting into wild shenanigans in the desert, some celebrities actually considered the area a second home. One of those celebrities was Frank Sinatra. Old blue eyes! In fact, he had this amazing property built in Palm Springs called the Twin Palms Estate, which is located right off Palm Canyon Road. Although the property is absolutely beautiful it was always missing one little thing and that was Andrew, Grace and a bunch of their family+friends having a kick ass time! Thankfully, that problem was resolved when Andrew and Grace chose the Frank Sinatra House in Palm Springs as the location for their destination wedding this October. Yes, it was still hot as f**k out because it is Palm Springs, but the cocktails were cold and the good times were aplenty. I am talking about tables of people doing shots, dudes jumping into the pool and the type of uncontrollable laughter that would make you think some wedding guests were engaged in recreational drug use. Honestly, this wedding was amazing and I had such a great time being a part of it so I am beyond excited to share a handful of photos from the day. Congrats Andrew and Grace and my apologies for the awkward introduction to this blog post!

My Thoughts On Twin Palms Estate In Palm Springs

I have to be completely honest in that I was really looking forward to shooting a wedding at the place the iconic Frank Sinatra used to call home. I am definitely not one of those people who cares about celebrity but there is something kind of special about those old-timers. My initial thoughts on the property were it was just stunning from an architectural standpoint. The symmetry and lines were designed with perfection! E. Stewart Williams, the architect of the property known as the Twin Palms Estate, really did an amazing job. Oh, and I was told by an event manager that when Frank Sinatra was flying into Palm Springs one (most likely drunken) afternoon he saw two giant palm trees. That moment he decided he wanted to build a home on that exact spot where the two palms were! The two palms are still present today and really are magnificent. Not to mention, a couple of large phallic symbol is always a good foundation for a cozy home. Other rad features include some of the original recording equipment that Frank Sinatra had shipped by Capital Records, a swimming pool designed as a piano, and of course the many orange-colored elements throughout the property (Orange was Sinatra’s favorite color). However, my favorite part about the Frank Sinatra Twin Palms Estate in Palm Springs is the history. Walking around the Frank Sinatra House and simply thinking about the lavish pool parties that happened is really cool. Things like Frank playing with his kids around the property while trying to live a “normal” life with movie starlet Ava Gardner, or the crazy fights he got into with his lover like the one where he threw a champagne bottle at Eva and then all her clothes out on the driveway. I agree that if bitches be tripping you need to remove them from the premises, but this Palm Springs wedding photographer does not agree with wasting good champagne.

It was fantastic touring the Twin Palms Estate but even better photographing you both in all your glory in the Palm Springs sunshine! Cheers to you both!
