Although I am a wedding photographer based in Southern California I often have brides and grooms request I travel to photograph their wedding. Honestly, I hate flying and never do well with traveling in general, but shooting in new locations is always a great experience and one I sincerely appreciate. So I suck it up, get my s**t together, grab my camera and get ready to kick ass when called upon to photograph a wedding whether it is in Chicago, Yosemite, Colorado or in this case Grass Valley in Northern California.

Travis and Gia are both the adventurous and creative type of people so the last thing they wanted for their wedding day was something that lacked personality and uniqueness. They wanted a truly “Do It Yourself” wedding that embodied their style and  lives together. Oh and they also did not want any outside influence so that meant no looking at Pinterest boards for any inspiration. They decorated themselves, grabbed items from their home to use as details and with the help of family and friends they pulled off what was easily one of the f***ing coolest weddings I have ever had the honor to photograph. But this wedding was more than personal details and the creative spirit behind them because this wedding was also on Halloween. Yup. You read that right, a Halloween wedding! That meant pumpkins, guests in costumes, beers, and general mayhem. Seriously, I don’t think words can even express how f***ing rad this wedding was so hopefully some of my photos did it justice.
