This last few weeks have been super hectic for me, but I mean that in a good way. I will never bitch and complain about “work” when I get to do something I f***ing love. I’ve been traveling and shooting at least 4 times a week, and although my life has been round the clock shooting and editing I am keenly aware of how lucky I am that people invest in my art. It’s a great feeling when your work connects with people and they want you to document significant moments in their lives. It is like getting super drunk and waking up not hungover at all….incredible! I’ve photographed engagement sessions in Temecula, weddings at the Avalon Hotel in Palm Springs, Ritz Carlton in Rancho Mirage and numerous small ceremonies in the desert and mountains. All of them were awesome, but one wedding in particular I was looking forward to photographing was Brent and Brooke’s wedding at Milagro Farms in Ramona, California.
Late last year I photographed Brent and Brooke’s engagement session in Balboa Park. We talked about drinking IPAs, fire fighting, cock fights and Boyz 2 Men. Basically, all of Brent’s favorite things. This couple was super easy going, attractive and open to doing some creative stuff which is always something any wedding photographer loves. So when their wedding came around I knew it would be awesome and of course these two and their friends/family did not disappoint! Oddly enough, the 7 day weather forecast had sunny days every day but on Brooke and Brent’s wedding day where the weather forecast had 100% chance of rain. When I arrived it was sunny and beautiful so I thought the weatherman was smoking crack, but holy sh** was I wrong because when it did eventually start coming down it was pure cats and dogs! Thankfully, the rain held off until after the wedding ceremony and portrait session so f*** yeah! We totally lucked out there. I have to bail out now to photograph a wedding in Palm Springs so check out the photographs from Brooke and Brent’s wedding below. Cheers!
