When I photographed a wedding at Moorten’s Botanical Garden in Palm Springs, California earlier this year I got to work with this amazing and stylish couple in Noelle and Darryl. They were awesome, fun, energetic and together we had a kick ass time filled with cocktails and cold beers. Little did I know that our time together would result in Noelle sharing my contact info with her friends Amanda and Kyle who would eventually connect with my work and book me to photograph their Newport Beach, California wedding. Honestly, it’s so f***ing rad whenever a past bride and groom refer me to their friends or family. It’s very humbling and makes me feel warm inside, sort of like when I take a sip of heavy handed Scotch. So I guess technically it’s more of a burning sensation. The point I’m trying to make is it’s awesome getting referrals so keep’m coming folks!

Now Amanda and Kyle opted to pass on a engagement session so they could save some cash to purchase matching samurai swords. That meant our first face-to-face encounter would be on their wedding day, and since wedding day coverage was only 5 hours I knew it was going to be a very fast moving day. Sort of like if  a typical wedding day smoked a bunch of crack. The shorter wedding coverage time also meant we would have to miss some stuff like the bride getting ready and the groomsmen waking up hungover and quickly throwing on their tuxedos. Epic shots for sure but probably nothing that would be framed in the house so it’s fine. I knew ahead of time it was going to be crazy a day but we really managed the timeline efficiently and got everything covered, only going 20 minutes later than anticipated. We rocked the bridesmaids and groomsmen photos before the ceremony at a Newport Beach golf clubhouse. Amanda and Kyle left the wedding ceremony in a vintage Mercedes where we did some portraits and family photos near some olive trees before heading to Kyle’s grandpa’s house for the wedding reception. There was dinner, dancing, drinking and a whole lot of whiskey shooting good times. Below are some of the wedding photos from that day of Amanda and Kyle’s Newport Beach wedding!  Cheers.
