Proposal In Palm Springs, California
Without a doubt one of my personal favorite things to photograph are wedding proposals. The reason? Energy. Most engagement sessions I shoot the couple are usually a little fixated on the “right” location, the wardrobe they will be wearing, posing in front of the camera and all sorts of other stuff that really does not matter much. But with wedding proposals the only thing a couple focus on are each other. The energy is truly electric and that always results in the best photographs. That is why I made some adjustments to my schedule when Chris sent me a message last week asking if I could sneak away to Palm Springs for an hour and capture his wedding proposal to his girlfriend Ila. The location for the proposal was L’Horizon Resort, a spot where they stayed on their first trip together 6 years ago, so it was a special place for the couple. The hotel staff at L’Hoirzon were totally accommodating to Chris and really went out of there way to help organize everything even though the hotel is a very private boutique. So I definitely want to give them a shout out for being incredible. Honestly, everything went according to plan and that is all you can ask when trying to covertly rock a proposal shoot. Below are some of the photographs from Chris’ Palm Springs wedding proposal to Ila!
Congrats again to Chris and Ila, and THANK YOU for allowing me to document such an amazing moment in both of your lives. I hope you enjoy the wedding planning process one beer or glass of wine at a time because trust me you are going to need all the booze you can consume to get through that “fun”! My closing piece of advice: hire a kick ass wedding coordinator or planner. They will save you from so many headaches and potential arguments. Cheers to you both!
