One of the best things about getting married on the California Central Coast is that there really is no bad time to do it. The climate here is genuinely mild almost year round, which means you have options most couples in other parts of the country simply don’t have.
That said, the sweet spot most couples gravitate toward runs April through October. Daytime temperatures during those months range from the low 60s up to around 100 degrees depending on where you are. If you’re planning a ceremony further inland around San Luis Obispo or Paso Robles wine country, expect warmer afternoons in the summer. Beach wedding venues along the coast naturally run cooler, which a lot of brides actually prefer. And here’s something locals will tell you that doesn’t always make it into the brochures: even on the hottest summer days, evenings in SLO cool down beautifully. Your guests will be comfortable, the golden hour light is gorgeous, and the dance floor energy stays alive well into the night.
If budget is a real consideration, take a serious look at November through February. Affordable wedding venues in San Luis Obispo are genuinely hard to come by during peak season, but shoulder months change that conversation completely.
